Double post but if anyone's around Parkville on the 19th of August come say hi! I'm helping out with the open day with the games club on campus! ;D

What type of games?

At the mo we have planned giant jenga and a water balloon dartboard, and I think the faculty want guitar hero too. (I've forgotten most of deets for now- We're more focused on winterfest! That's going to be fun- we're running a beer pong stall but instead of beer, it's going to be good and bad tasting drinks (apparently including soy sauce aha!!))

What do you have planned for the bad-tasting one?

Other than soy sauce, ideas we've had so far are plain sparkling water, warm gatorade and milo with water!
(If anyone has any other ideas hit me up ahah! :') )

There were so many Monash students on the bus this morning that I ended up missing my stop, alighting at Monash, and then just walking to work from there.

The new Learning and Teaching Building feels sooooo modern hahaha. I saw some drafts for it in like 2016, and it actually looks exactly as promised! Amazing.

Has anyone used a library/complab PC recently and feel like it's taking forever to login? (Even moreso than before?)

I just sat here for 15 mins waiting for a complab PC to login. :')

I can't believe how much I took the previous password system for granted.

So many attempts at creating a new password with over 13 characters AND punctuation, variable capitalisation, numbers, no words etc. and it still wouldn't accept them.

That sucks man. There's been so many issues with the password system this year I swear. My tutor was locked out of his account last Friday and couldn't get in at all which was shocking. We had to improvise without having access to an Excel spreadsheet with all the calculations which we desperately needed, which was a shame as I had no clue how he was calculating the numbers that he was writing on the board. Hope you can get back in eventually.

I would have clocked many more kilometres than necessary over the years just avoiding Campus Centre.

I'm not too invested in this kind of thing, but Together (pink t-shirts) was the group that ran the MSA this year, and they managed to do things such as reverse some of the Arts cuts, introduce Wednesday Sessions (those mini-festivals on Lemon Scented Lawn, which was one of their big promises), and introduce a sexual consent module for first years. I'm pretty sure a lot of the candidates under the Activate (yellow t-shirts) ticket are from the old Go! group, which ran the MSA for a few years uninterrupted until Together took over this year. If you weren't following the election last year, it was apparently the biggest in awhile, as many people weren't happy with the then current MSA, and Together managed to build a big campaign to contest.

I think Grassroots was aligned somewhat with Together last time, so I'd assume they have similar ideals. Left Action are your activist group. Not sure about the others, but I'm sure they all have Facebook posts or something to promote their policies, etc.

Where do you even find all the different policies of the various parties? :/

I've managed to avoid the campaigners this whole week but may not be able to avoid campus centre tomorrow.

I think most of them have Facebook pages or the like where you can find that kind of info. Alternatively, you can grab a pamphlet from one of the campaigners :P

Also voting finished today (Thursday) so you should be all good for tomorrow! ;)
