Anyone know if MTH1030 labs run on Week 1?

Got my lab on Monday, but I'm overseas and only arrive back Monday night.

They shouldn't, since you won't have actually learned anything to do in them. :P

So apparently my tute for ATS1873 (Wed 10am) is before either or the two available lectures for the subject (either 3pm Wed or 3pm Thu). Is it - for want of a better word - normal for a tute to be before a lecture?

I did ATS1873 last year, and was in a similar situation (i.e., tute before lecture). Last year, the tutorials were a week behind lectures (in terms of what was discussed) so no one was disadvantaged. It all felt a bit disconnected, but this was also because I found that the tutes to be very unrelated to lecture content!

Also, Week 1 was just 'introduce yourself' activities and going through what the assessments were. No course content was really covered at all! (from memory)

Everyone does the same tute work. Either everyone tute focuses on the previous week or yours focuses on the current week but what you discuss is based on readings (which you should obviously do before) or is only sort of connected to the lecture.

Hi guys! I'm a current year 12 student (soz for being annoying)

I'm keen on doing the Bachelor of Commerce at Monash however I'm in a bit of a pickle. The pickle is that me being me decided to not do Maths Methods in VCE (i'm clever, right?).

So anyway, I was just wondering if you guys could help me/direct me as to what my options are to get into Commerce eventually.
Business degree for a year then transfer provided I have sufficient grades? Is there any specific subject I need to do in that year to be allowed to transfer into Commerce?
Or is there an alternate way which i'm just oblivious too?

Thanks!!

Well, since Methods is a pre-req for Commerce as you say, I think even after a year of Business in order to enter Commerce you'll have to prove you've done methods or an equivalent. Which means doing a bridging course/equivalent. I don't know much about these, but I believe the methods equivalent as a uni subject at Monash is MTH1010:

http://www.monash.edu.au/pubs/2014handbooks/units/MTH1010.html

So I guess in first year you'd do your business degree, get decent marks in that and complete that methods equivalent subject as an elective, then apply to transfer to Commerce at the end of the year. There are probably other options in terms of bridging subjects, though somebody else can hopefully help you here as I don't have a lot of knowledge regarding them...

Woke up at 5:30pm yesterday, have to be up at 6am today. I did not think this out...

I would put good money on me falling asleep in my first lecture.

I find the Clayton campus to be so uninspiring.
