Getting into uni with a public holiday timetable has been absolutely brutal.

Is there a stapler that can staple massive chunks of paper in one staple (50 pages) on campus? I have a stapler but the staple only goes through to the 20th page...

Never seen one, you might need to go to officeworks and get it bound. Alternatively you can change the options to fit 2 pages on one page (4,6, etc)

Has anyone seen a girl in a red coat walking around all week ? :P

No, why, have you?

So we're looking for a girl of uknown race and unknown physical description wearing clothes... shouldn't be too difficult.

Any first year science students, (preferably doing CHM1011-22 and BIO1011-22) want to start an online study group (over Skype or Facebook) and perhaps expand to Monash libraries in the near future?

nice. I've met a fair few people but no one I would really call a friend (just hasn't progressed outside of the classroom I guess) ahah.

Pretty much me haha, living so far away from campus makes it hard to socialise with the people outside of class really!

Hahaha, who said I've been outside the classroom with them ? :P

Nah but really, in my book, they're a friend if you think they are and if you can chat with them casually outside of class about completely unrelated things :)

Give it some more time, it's still early days, good luck :)

ah fair enough. in my book someone like that would be more of an acquaintance to be honest. yeh I'm not to concerned I haven't been to any organised events outside of class so that's probably why, gotta join a club or two more I reckon.

Fair enough, different views for different people :)

I haven't either. I don't really know if they're my scene tbh..but seems like a good way of getting to know people. Join arts if you're into the nightlife ;)

It's still early peeps, while around 3-4 of my first year friends are still some of my closest friends, I found that most of my close friends were discovered in second year and onwards. You are thinking about majors then and people you share units with then will be with you for a while. Also probably share similar passions :)

I'd say the electronic one in Hargrave-Andrew Library (they probably have one in the other libraries, too) could probably do it, it can do 30 pages with ease.

If not you can always staple one set of 25 pages and another set of 25 pages then staple the top 2 of one and the bottom 2 of the other together or whatever.

This is probably racist but I found out through watching a recording online that one of my lectures has an incredibly strong accent that I simply just can't follow along with. This may be immature but it is like listening to someone talk really fast or really slow, I just can't follow along. Sadface :(

Are you doing social leadership and change at like midday today? That lecture was actually really interesting (I didn't go to the first one) but everyone is so afraid to answer questions haha. At the end I tried to answer a question and my throat completely fucked up and I couldn't speak it was so awkward (i had an endotracheal tube put down my throat a few nights ago in hospital so throats fucked).

not racist. sometimes the recording isn't as clear as real life. otherwise maybe try and download the recording and play it at a slower speed.

MULO actually has an option to play back most recordings from 0.5x to 2x speed.
The only time I've experienced trouble with this is that recordings from S13 can only be played at 1x (probably because S13 also captures the blackboards, not just the computer screen), but of course that can be bypassed by downloading.

Thanks guys.

Lastly, I want to change out of one of my units for another unit as I don't believe it is too late yet. Is there anyway I am able to select a unit and suss out what kind of timetable allocations I would have without confirming it or getting rid of my current unit or do I just have to go all in and hope for the best? If I'm being unclear, I want to get rid of a unit and replace it with another unit only if the timetable allocation fits my current three-day a week schedule, and otherwise I won't want to get rid of my current enrolment in the unit. ehh so convoluted.
