You've just hit MO theory, yeah? Don't worry - the second half is a lot better. Particularly kinetics and equilibria, it's legit just really simple formula you have to know. ;D
Yep! Yeah today's lecture was much easier haha.
HD'd my first assignment ! Over the moon
Congrats!!

I will be on the clayton campus this thursday, and probably all subsequent thursdays, so that works good.
Hey guys, just a question about our final grades. How do they calculate percentages, if I get below 80% on a say 20% assignment, does it mean I no longer have a chance of getting HD?
A 20% assignment very straightforwardly (this is a word) contributes 20% to your final score. So say you get 70% on a 20% assignment. That's a contribution of 0.2*70 to your final grade, or 14. It means that if you get 100% on every other piece of assessment, you'll end up with a 94 HD.

What's the secret formula to the carpool boom gates? No matter what way my friend and I attempt to scan our cards, it never opens and we have to press for assistance. We're both obviously registered for carpool.

Did you get your ID cards validated at the start of semester at the Security office? I don't know if you still need to do this (as well as register for Rideshare online) but I had to in first year and it's always worked fine for me since.

Last year they had signs up saying the driver had to scan first, so maybe try that if you're not already doing so. Otherwise take your cards down to the Security office to check that they're actually on the system.

I registered online and embarrassingly for my friend in the car, it didn't work.

I went to the security and traffic office, turns out it didn't go through or activate for whatever reason. They took it in the back room and fixed it up for me. You might want to do that.

So..the one thing that I've learned about university so far is that lecturers are normal people as well. The world is full of surprises.

On another note, I think I'm going to start keeping a journal. Does anyone else do this ?

I wrote a journal through parts of high school. I wrote every day from the first day of Year 11 to the last of Year 12. I miss it a bit, and recommend it.

Aw, this is sweet. Do you still have it ?!

I used to keep one when I was like 7, but it turned into like the burn book from mean girls so I scrapped that idea hahaha !

Think I should start doing it again though !
