I thought they only make you pay it once your fines get above $50?

I am so damn unreasonably mad about this for so many reasons. I looked at (a) and went, oh yeah, haha, very funny, that's the joke answer. And it's the bloody right answer.

I'm actually sick and tired of the Game of Thrones quotes that seem to litter the university...

Turns out one of the bigger discoverers of Germ Theory was a guy called Jon Snow.

The person who wrote the exam I discovered this in was actually so sick of the GoT jokes that people made, that she made sure to mention that this guy was not from that universe. People were still talking about the jokes they made in that question, as if they were all super original comedians and the first to think of it...

I don't even know why I'm so bothered by all of this, other. I just sound really salty rn LOL.

And I gotta say, defs prefer Autumn to all other seasons. :P

Ahh, the original Jon Snow - whom I first heard about while watching a documentary on the construction of London's sewer system in order to combat cholera (IIRC). But winter IS coming - are you saying the world is going to end before June 1 next year :P ? I like that the weather is getting warmer and brighter, but I swear early spring just causes me to sneeze like crazy, and I have to take large wads of tissues to uni every day.

In my first-year physics lectures, we had these interactive multiple-choice questions which we responded to through the use of 'clickers'. The lecturer who taught us about the properties of waves and harmonic motion often put a joke answer as one of the options; the two most memorable being the following:

1. What is the net force on the spring at point B, and why?
Answer: Midichlorians are zero, therefore the force is zero.

2. An alien is attempting to catch a fish in a river using a spear. Assuming the refractive index of water is greater than that of air, where should the alien aim the spear?
Answer: Any sufficiently advanced civilisation would never resort to killing another sentient organism for nutrition.

I'm currently sitting in the library pseudo working on an essay, and it occurred to me, as I scanned the room, that I absolutely no idea what assignments are like in faculties other than Arts. That displeases me.

So my question is: what assignment is everybody's most pressing one at this time? For example, I am working on a research essay on the media portrayal of Buddhist transsexuals in Thailand.

Just finished up a 5000 case report on a patient with bipolar II disorder. Had to explain the details of the case, justification for diagnosis, why the patient presented in the way they did, and my proposed management plan.

5000 words was just not enough hahaha :'(

Depends what your interests are I guess. I didn't find it super interesting because I don't find psych to be that interesting, but I did gain a better appreciation for psychiatry,so I'm happy with that :)
