I want to play Guitar in the big band, but I don't have an electric.  :'(

Soz man, I've never seen a big band with an acoustic guitarist. :P You could always buy like a cheap strat knock-off - I've seen some for only $100.

Can I do it without losing any % of my final score for not showing up? Participation or whatever? To be honest, If there are people in my class i talk to and stuff, I might just go, but if I'm always alone, I might do what you did.

I'm with Joe - I know very few people who can do 3 hour breaks, 7 is absolutely crazy. Usually 2 is the biggest people can sanely get through.

Does anyone here take the train home after 4-5pm? For those who do, is it difficult to get a seat (talking from Huntingdale to the CBD mainly).

Edit: This is my first year at monash as a PG student, used to only living 5-10 minutes away from my previous uni so i'm not used to the train commute. What about those who have blue permits, how difficult is it to get a car space?

You won't get a seat on the train unless you're going into the city, in which case there's usually seats. As for parking, it's not as bad as people say - it does depend on where you park and when you get into uni, though.

Yeah. It's pretty rare. Some recording bands do it to be edgy sometimes. The thing with knockoff Strats is that there are so many things that could go wrong, and it will cost you the price of a real one to bring it up to code. I was looking at getting a second hand Squire, or even an Epiphone for around $200. Do you play?

Kannon FML I even came in to your tent at the start of the day to ask if you needed tape but didnt see/recognise you!

GF= Gluten Free

Aaron- going into the city at that time you'll get seats, it's going outbound from there that's unpredictable.

CommBank stall has good freebies which you can get after doing a survey. Officeworks stall will give you freestuff if you do one of their games. You can win an A5 size chunky notebook if you beat their person in shaking the ping pong ball out of a tissue box tied to your ass first.

Nutrition and Dietetics has a goodie bag which has a lot of food stuff in it if you join their club for $5 with MSA. Actuarial actually has a black foam 15' laptop case, a power bank and some lollies in it again for membership of $5 with MSA. Their goodie bags are probably worth the amount you pay. Islamic has a goodie bag with 2 brochures and lollies, it's free to join with MSA so w/e for free lollies.

ASOS will give you a bag and it has a pack of chewing gum if you sign up to Paypal.

Yesterday it was you had to make a paper aeroplane and throw it through a hole (which was 3 metres away so pretty easy) for the chunky notebook so pretty worth. Definitely agree with MASS goodies were pretty neat too.

Also when I checked my timetable, I had one tutorial from 8am - 11am and then an 7 hour gap till a 6pm - 7pm lecture however it said the lecture was an eLecture so I assume I can head back home for that and watch it on MULO?

Oh they had too but I decided to use the real skillz dat pay da billz to get me dat notebook. They told me I had to twerk but the thing is that the tissue box is placed with the hole facing outwards rather than upwards so it was really a matter of doing some sold hip thrusts. Too easy.

CommBank get your shit together.

Is there any way to export the Allocate+ timetable into an electronic calendar format (eg. Google Calendar)? Adding each item manually sounds terribly inefficient but I can't seem to find an export to calendar option.

The link here on my.monash doesn't seem to work for me.

We are a happy bunch! ^_^

Speaking of which (and feel free to stop reading now LOL)... I just came to the realisation that I'm really enjoying what I'm doing this year! I kinda took a leap of faith in doing a Hons year; I didn't really know what I was signing up for, hardly any of my mates were doing it, the hospital I'm now at was completely new to me... I just wanted to try something 'different' to prove to myself that I could do it. Just slowly getting through my literature review right now and reflecting on something that I had read, I for some reason, could not have been more enthusiastic and keen to read more! As many of your would have correctly assumed, I can be pretty cynical, negative, and sarcastic at times. What's probably less known, is that I'm always beating myself up about this or that, always finding a way to discover a negative in a situation, and honestly sometimes I feel that I have achieved absolutely nothing of worth in my life so far (especially when many of my school mates are now walking around the CBD with degrees and fancy suits etc.). But today there was none of that. It's a foreign feeling, but a good feeling, hopefully it lasts! :)

Here's to a good year ahead for us all! :)

Thanks guys!

The terminology is confusion, Bachelor of Medical Science is different to Bachelor of Biomedical Science (or Bachelor of Biomedicine). During the MBBS we have an opportunity to do an Honours year and this year itself is called "Bachelor of Medical Science" :) So I've done four years of MBBS, taking a year off to do the BMedSc this year, and will do my final MBBS year in 2017! :D

You can win an A5 size chunky notebook if you beat their person in shaking the ping pong ball out of a tissue box tied to your ass first.
