Is anyone heading down to Gravity tomorrow?

Oh this looks interesting, let me read the rest of this post of yours.

I'm sure Coffee will be able to help you with this soon enough. ;)

Some brief thoughts (my memory is already a little rusty haha):

Taste Baguette
If you polled all of Monash's students, I reckon Taste Baguette would come out on top. Personally, I think I went there four times in four years. It's the one on the ground floor of Menzies - you can either eat (drink) in, or take away (for takeaway, you order on the inside of Menzies). Why did I barely go there? a) The queues always seemed horrendously long to me; b) I never worked out exactly how to order hahaha; c) when I wanted coffee, I generally wanted to go for a bit of a walk, so Menzies was sort of... too close. But yeah, this one is extremely popular. Don't expect them to get your name right, though. (The coffee itself in my experience was pretty good.)

Artichoke & Whitebait
Opposite Meeting Point in Campus Centre. This was my go-to for 2015 and 2016, so I guess would be my recommendation overall. Honestly, I couldn't really tell you why - I just liked it most haha.

Meeting Point
Also in Campus Centre. I used (2013 to 2014) to go here when I had no idea what I was doing. I initially went there because the line was the shortest, but there was probably a reason for that. Like, the coffee isn't bad; I just prefer coffee from elsewhere on campus. I don't really drink hot chocolate, but apparently Meeting Point is excellent for your warm chocolately needs. The soy is a little hit and miss.

The Den
The Den makes me sort of sad, because it used to be under the Matheson Library (hence the name) - probably until some time in 2016. It's much better now IMO (in terms of location, facilities and coffee quality), but I sort of miss its original iteration. Definitely would recommend. Also a good place to chill with your laptop and catch up on work.

Wholefoods
Coffee is well and truly passable but nothing to write home about in my experience. Cheap food, so if you're looking for a very affordable lunch/coffee combination, this is probably your place.

Grafali's Coffee Roasters
Reminds me a bit of chain coffee you find in rural Victorian towns for some reason (that's not a criticism; it just tastes slightly different). They have the option of some pretty freakin' huge sizes, which is good if you're an idiot like me and always buy the largest size out of habit (irrespective of actual coffee needs). It's in Campus Centre, basically on the other side to Meeting Point/Artichoke.

Church of Secular Coffee/St. Ali's
The coffee is okay, but I tended to avoid it; it was way too loud, slightly out of the way (for me, at least), and tended to be pretty busy. I know that some people love it, though.

Cinque Lire
I can't pretend to know much about Cinque Lire as I only frequented it a few times. Perhaps others could contribute, here. :)

Saporo
Wayyyyy up the back of campus (in New Horizons). It has a more sophisticated feel to me, which is sort of cool. And the building is really funky; I recommend checking it out, even if you don't have classes or any other reason to go there. The coffee was good, but I felt slightly claustrophobic at times. 100% worth checking out, though.

Hargrave-Andrew Library
They used to have back in the day some food options sort of under HAL (i.e. on ground level, before you go up the stairs). It's been under reconstruction for a fair while, but I've heard on the grapevine that there's now a coffee place there, and that it's good. Maybe you (or your friend ;)) could try it out on my behalf! ;D This could be particularly good if you happen to be around the Science area of campus a lot.

I'm also acutely aware that there are a few others places I've not yet mentioned, but this post is getting way longer than anticipated, so I might come back later on haha. :)

Haha, of course. ;)

I'll just add onto this list. Supernatural is an absolute gem. It's located just outside the campus centre, next door to Boost Juice. The small is SMALL but it's $3 if you are low on cash. Otherwise you might want to upsize to a regular which seems to be closer to the 'standard' small size. I go there almost everyday and the coffee is always nice. The customer service is excellent too, everyone is friendly, although it can get a bit busy around 12 so steer clear if you're in a hurry. You also get a card so after buying 10 or 12 (I can't remember which) coffees, you can get one free. Woo!

Do not get me started on their food. It's all incredibly healthy and insanely delicious. (Just check their Instagram). They also have a special going for the whole month of March, buy a wrap, sandwich, or bagel and get a free small coffee. :)

If you're looking for recommendations, I cannot endorse their peanut butter toast enough.
I should also mention their food isn't always student/budget-friendly, but it IS worth it.

Here I am, in the library, supposed to be working on the four assignments I have due next week, but instead writing a review about coffee.

Oh, yeah! This place was new in lateish 2016; I don't think I ever had coffee there, in the end. Are there other new places I've missed in Campus Centre? :)

I'll have to check that out. I'm always looking for places to get stuff from, other than the vending machine. Thanks Coffee

The Education Building is pretty slick these days, though!

Oh yeah - it pretty much solves all my problems, hence why I don't have a clue about anything else @ Monash. Study spaces, kitchen, vending machines for instant food etc, IT support, macs/PCs, conference/study spaces with the big screens. No need to go anywhere else really!

I'm going to miss out on that new learning and teaching building they're currently constructing right near the bus interchange. That will be the new education building (or sharing it with something else).

smh when the education buildings are apparently nice and still getting new buildings whilst the engineering area is practically a dump. LOL

Tfw the education building is 100x nicer than freezing out here at the pharmacy and pharmsci faculty lecture theaters. (I kid you not- I'm sitting here freezing with another hour to go 😂)
(The aircon is one at like -2 btw)

Yeah the weather has been in the 30's on pretty much everyday since the start of uni but once you get into the matheson library it is freezing. Although hargraves and the lawbrary are fine.
