Which is most important in methods?
Multiple choice, short answer, or extended response?
And how do you approach the extended response questions? Like should you read it multiple times until you understand what the question is asking of you, and then try various methods to solve the question?
Thanks

Well they are all important but I feel like extended response is the easiest to totally screw up  :P

Make sure you spend reading time well by looking out for any tricks in the stimulus/questions.

Personally (in the CAS allowed exam), I look over E.R first in reading time and make sure not to miss any key info then I start looking over MC in the last part of reading time and start answering them in my head. Consequently, by the end of reading time the answers to MC are fresh in my memory so I can quickly finish that section of the paper and spend more time on the trickier ER questions

Hope I offered some help! ;D

What raw study score would 30/40 and 50/80 get for methods? Is 35 raw possible?

35 is definitely possible. I'd post this on the study score prediction thread to get someone to actually work it out for you though
2016: Biology, Physics
2017: English, Methods, Specialist, German, Chemistry

Feel free to give me a message if you need help in these subjects!!

I took my 2 summary books to office works to get them bounded, and there were holes as part of the bounding process, and the holes cut off some of the formulas and notes in my bound reference? Can i sue office works?

You can try, I doubt you'll get very far.

Does anyone reckon that a 240 page book is enough for a bound reference for the whole 3/4 methods course?. I don't want to end up using more than 240 pages and having to bind books together and losing my formulas and notes due to office works crazy binding

I definitely used less than 50 pages of an A5 book for my summary (which I had been adding to the whole year) so it's certainly possible

I'll phrase it this way. As a uni student doing a masters, I can summarise entire subjects in less than 30 pages. These subjects are at least twice as dense as VCE subjects, so I could probably condense the Methods course into 15 pages or so of really compact notes. 50 pages of A5 sounds entirely plausible to me. 240 pages of A4 is completely overkill. You want short and simple notes for a few reasons.

1. They're easier to use.
2. Simplifying explanations and using less space for the same content is an art in itself
3. Makes it easier to see key points

How many marks can you get out of 80 in exam 2 with just using the cas alone?

80

It is possible to remember everything in your summary book and they don't deduct marks for not using it. It's a good resource to make because most students won't remember everything and the process of creating it also helps you

If you can get 80/80 with just using the cas then wouldn't everyone get 80/80 and get raw 50? How on earth's that possible?
