Getting your P's

There's an Australian government-funded initiative (http://www.keys2drive.com.au/) which gives every L-plate driver one free lesson, so maybe you could check that out and grab a free lesson with a local instructor before you get your Ps? What happens is that you have to book a private lesson with your instructor, then give them the code so they can claim money from the Govt. I was thinking of doing this over the holis, so I can't vouch for any particular drivers, but I think it's pretty legit. Hope this helps somebody

I've got about 80ish hours I think...I'm too lazy to record, but do you guys think that they actually check/keep your booklet? Or do they jsut have a flick through?

Yeah I did it for my 15th hour of driving. The guy gave me a choice of talking about stuff for 45 minutes or going for a drive. He gave me some booklets and that was about it.

@kazdawg: I don't think it was after getting P's, I had my lesson and i just began driving on my L's. She taught me the 3 point turn and that whole mirror head check thingy that you do. But I forgot all of it except for the turn.

Nah I checked the site, you can do it before or after you get your P's. Maybe they just do different things or explain different things depending.
