I did Units 3/4 this year and there's so many things I wish I knew and did earlier.
Although it may seem pointless to do a lot of study and burn yourself out before you start the course, you really need to do preparation over the summer holidays. Because Legal is a relatively easy to grasp subject and the better part of it is memorisation, I suggest that you read through your books and make notes for everything on the study design over the summer holidays.
Start with the first area of study in Unit 3 and work your way through, writing extensive notes while referring to your book and other sets of notes/summaries that I'm sure you'll be able to source.
I'm not suggesting that you do 10 hours of legal every day, but perhaps doing 1-2 hours of solid work for 5 days a week on the holidays will give you a huge advantage.
In the end, it's a competition and you're fighting for a high study score with the rest of the State.
Take SACs seriously as they are not only imperative for your high ranking in your cohort but are also very good indications as to the types of exam questions you could face specific to that area of study, especially if the SACs at your school are relatively difficult.
Overall, it's a great subject and I really enjoyed it. I feel as though I could have done so much better than I did this year but anyway, onwards and upwards!
Best of luck to you in your future endeavours!
