Nothing magically happens in the holidays between the end of VCE and the start of uni. If people are jerks before, they'll be jerks in uni as well. You just have a lot more freedom to avoid those people

at normal universities we generally just get to know eachother, and if there's a mutual liking, many will enter a relationship.
