Taiga, it's not a problem for me because I intend to see the course through, but it may affect those who are enrolling to see what it's like, but plan on only completing two units if they decide it's not for them. You suggest they won't be charged so long as they do the two units before dropping out, but the enrolment pack states that both the two units must be completed in the first month, and that the course must be fully completed in the long term in order to retain the scholarship and avoid a fee.
Is there a catch?
There is no catch, however you must be informed that the scholarship that Upskill awards applies if and only if you complete the first two units of the course in the first month (roughly 2-4 hours of work). If you can’t complete those units, you will be charged a one-time fee of $187.50 for the course, which is the value of the scholarship provided by Upskill.
To meet the requirements of the scholarship you must:
- complete 2 units within 30 days of receiving your enrolment details in either a Certificate III/IV level
course or 1 unit within the first 6 weeks of enrolling into a Diploma level course, - complete the qualification as per the signed Training Plan, and
- fit one or more fee exemption categories listed below.
If you fail to meet the above requirements you’ll be invoiced the applicable enrolment fee to your
course level; $187.50 for either Certificate III/IV level, $375 for Diploma level. This will become
immediately payable.
