VIS-COM EXAM REVISION
Time: 1 ˝ hours
2/ Practice producing a third-angle orthogonal drawing 
3/You will need to understand and know the different design elements and principles
4/You should also be able to analyse examples of advertisements. And be able to discuss audiences,
5/ You should practice producing different solutions to problems EG: designing a poster for a cafe or a logo.

ELEMENTS & PRINCIPALS:
Elements :
-Point (film grain, dot rendering, bullet list)
-Line (straight, angled, thick etc.)
-Shape (circles, triangles, squares)
-Form (3 dimensional)
-Tone (shading)
-Texture (realistic feel)
-Colour (used in conjunction with other elements)
-Letterform (letters, typography)

Principles:
-Hierarchy: Large, small, foreground, background, middle ground
-Scale (Larger to smaller, measured)
-Proportion (accuracy of illustration)
-Pattern (repeating imagery)
-Figure Ground(?)
-Balance (Symmetrical, evnenly distributed image)
-Contrast (big, small, white, black etc.)
-Cropping (Creates abstract emphasis)

Project Title   Fro Yo Love Loco, Caravan and Business Card
Graphic Design   The design will be designing a new logo, business card and a prototype design for a caravan. Therefore graphic design and industrial design will be used.
PROJECT OVERVIEW

Need-
Purpose-
Audience-   Need: FYL yogurt company has been in the industry business since 1985, with a reputation in fine fresh yogurt. The logo is now outdated and sales have tended to drop over the past 5 years. A well needed revamping of the corporate identity and caravans are needed. A new logo, business card and caravan design will b provided to increase sales.
Purpose: The company will (sell, promote) revamp all existing logo’s business cards and caravan designs in order to sell, advertise and promote “Fro Yo Love” yogurt.
Audience: the audience will be both genders, female and male but specific taget group will be children. However it also should appeal to all age groups who enjoy the taste of fresh yogurt.
Context   The logo will be displayed on the caravan and business card. (or swing tag, packaging)
Constrains   Must be colourful ideas and logo on caravn to attract target audience. The caravan must show a retro 60’s-70’s feel.
