Pursuing your chosen pathway through TAFE doesn't really make sense because, correct me if I'm wrong, it's going to take up more of your time than recompleting a single subject?

What would you guys do if you were not able to even do TAFE, for example:paramedic, police, army etc?

Where there's a will, there's a way. VCE isn't the end-all be-all of purusing what you want to do.

The only subject that I could repeat that would dramatically boost my ATAR would be English. Let's be honest, no one in their right mind would do that...

Yeah, but you don't necessarily have to repeat English, you could try one of the other English subjects. I've known people who got a low score in one and then tried a different one the second time, like English then Lit or Eng Lang. It's slightly less soul destroying than repeating English.

Getting a reasonable ATARSCORE might be the top of priority of succeeding right now whats to come at this very closing present time, it wouldn't really matter much more later in life, because all of us would still end up (via through tafe or uni) in the same position like our parents of possibly supporting our families, bills, debt, tax and mortgage to take care off.

Finishing year 12 is definitely a milestone in life, it is pretty much a daunting experience of having weeks that are loaded with sacs and exams. Its your option to repeat year 12 if a atar lower than 85 or leave it as a result under 85, the best thing for that option is to know whats easier and more flexible for you :).

No matter how good our job profiles we are all going to end up in the same 'position' as everyone, we get to live through one life which totally sucks and our result of life is being expirated or deceased. We would all have to enjoy most of our time to feel 'great'

Gosh i sounded emo lol.

Ciao.

Imagine redoing the VCE and still not getting in to the course of your choosing. That's enough to put me off doing it twice.

As some would know, I was going to repeat a couple of subjects this year to increase my ATAR for guaranteed entry at UniMelb.

I went to one Maths Methods class at the start of the year and that was enough to remind me of how much I hated VCE.   I got my ass out of there so fast and never looked back...

stonecold, you wouldn't have just gained guaranteed entry, i think you would have gained a scholarship as well right? :P

btw, is there a limit to the number of times we can repeat year 12?

I got the exact same scholarship as the one you get in the Chancellor's Scholars Program, just without guaranteed entry for some stupid reason.
In the end it has worked out okay though I guess.  I've got a decent GAMSAT mark, and my uni grades are looking pretty good so far. :)

And nah, you can repeat VCE as many times as you want without penalty.

Unless you die; the chance of which increases exponentially as the time spent enduring VCE increases.

LOL! yeah that's true, and plus you'll be repeating it with a bunch of younger kids, that's worse than the actual year 12 itself

I haven't even started Year 12 yet, but I'm pretty sure that I don't want to repeat it. I'd only consider it if I didn't even get a high enough ATAR for an Arts degree. I'm sort of depending on SEAS to pull me through for Arts/Law, though. Suicide would probably be my next consideration. >.>

Not cool man, not cool. That should never be a 'consideration'.
