hate to reiterate a point, but as soon as you start getting into work at 8 and leaving at 6 30 (or worse), you have no time (let alone energy) to do anything with your money. You get two weeks A YEAR off from work, including christmas etc, so it's not even like you can live the good life and go travelling a lot etc. After you get into pretty much any job, you'll be able to afford an iPad or whatever else it is you think you want at the moment, but in the end work will consume your life. I wouldn't recommend medicine or law - 5+ years of study, then start out with massive hours and relatively low wage. Investment (in theory) is the way to go - in that regard, I'd study commerce. Good luck: with a perspective like yours, you'll need it.
