Does anyone know anything about this? It sounds like a worthwhile concept.

I actually first read about distributed computing in the novel they mentioned on that site. T'was a good book!

Has been around for a while. Several projects have been quite popular, such as folding@home and seti@home

Have you signed up for it? I dont know what I have to so to get the software and which one to get? :S

No, but I should. folding@home seems to be the most popular and the most successful, they have instructions there on how to install it for your computer.
