Hey guys,
Been overseas for the last month and just found out i had a successful law transfer aswell, and I'm still confused as to how i accept the transfer...
Was it confirmed that all i do is reply to the email alerting me of my successful application, seems a bit strange since the email address was something along the lines of "do not reply".

I tried calling today but they were closed, so thought i would ask everyone here as to what to do.

You accept your offer through WES in the Enrolment/Re-Enrolment section section at top left.

The university has reopened as of Jan 5, but you if you called after 5 PM then it makes sense that there wasn't anyone to pick up. Try again tomorrow during the day!

Just had a quick look and can't seem to find anything that mentions "transfers" or "accepting".
Probably best i just call them again tomorrow during contact hours haha, been changing time zones so much and with daylight savings it can get confusing, i just woke up in london and everyone else is winding down back home!

Hey! Congrats on the offer. :) As for accepting it, you have to do it via the ask.monash portal. So basically you submit a query saying RE: Internal Course Transfer Law and write in the box that you accept your offer. Then you'll be forwarded to Sherri, the Undergraduate Student Services Leader and she'll probably reply confirming your acceptance. Then, you enrol personally on Jan 23 at uni. I know the letter and the email have conflicting info lol. You can't enrol via WES because I've been told that they're not going to update it til Jan 23. Anyway, congrats, I might see you around :)

Has anyone been able to enrol into their law units on WES yet? I'm overseas at the moment so I wasn't able to make it to the enrolment/information session but I was told that I'd be able to enrol online on the 23rd, yet it still says the course I'm enrolled in is Arts. Also, if someone could let me know what was mentioned at the info session, I'd be extremely grateful!

Hey Jess. You're not the only one who's having problems with enroling! I know some people have been enroled early but according to Shufen, the student services person that you just have to check because their team are already working on it but it's also taking a lot of time. She said that if you haven't seen yours updated by Tuesday that you should contact the faculty.

There was a lot of things mentioned at the info session but there were things you could look up at the current students tab on the monash law page. What you really need to have, though is the FOL unit materials book that they handed, and if you wanted to you could have bought a Legibook membership for your law textbooks. You probably aren't able to do a mid-year transfer (I assume that's what you meant by "mid semester"?) because of biomed's course structure which consists of sequential core units, but to be sure you'd have to contact the faculty.

That said, you can absolutely transfer at the end of the year. You won't get any credit for your science units if you're aiming for one of the 50 guaranteed postgrad med places (as you need to complete every BMS unit), but you can certainly transfer credit over for commerce.

Because of the huge increase in demand for places in biomed over the past couple of years, I'd imagine that you'd need an average of 80+ to be truly competitive. There's probably a minimum WAM of 70 to have your transfer application considered by the faculty, but again you'd want to check this with the faculty. Good luck!

Hey guys, I was just wondering with mid-year transfers from first year courses, do they consider your ATAR and first semester results? Or just ATAR? Or just first semester results?

Also, has anyone on here had experience in transferring into commerce? What kind of WAM is competitive etc (I know the website says 75% for double degree and 70% for single degree, just want to know if these are accurate)

Thanks!

Yes it is usually said they consider your ATAR. The exact considerations, formulas and methods are probably only known to the university. You could try asking them since they really are the best source of information on this.

They accept applications for mid year transfers, but not from first year students, coninciding with the entry requirements on the page you provided a link for.
