I'm in pretty much the exact same position as you, and decided on Biomed/Eng at Monash too. Just know that the Engineering Excellence scholarship won't apply to this course, because it's run by the Faculty of Health Sciences, but as Taiga said 30K is nothing over the course of a lifetime. I don't mean to contradict you or anything, but are you sure? On the letter I received at home, it says under conditions: "conditional upon your receipt of an offer and enrolment in any Engineering single degree or double degree at a Monash University campus in Australia"

Doesn't that include biomed/eng too?

That's alright then, I was just gonna come back here and tell you that apparently if you get an Arts scholarship, it's not valid for Arts/Law because the Arts/Law is run by the Law faculty, not the Arts faculty, or something like that

But it's good that you can use it for BioMed/Engineering, guess that's aite then

Sorry for confusing you! The little booklet we got in the mail had a section on Faculty Scholarships that talks about that Arts/Law situation, I thought that meant it would be the same for BioMed/Engineering, but I guess you have to trust the woman on the phone. She seemed quite unsure of herself though when I asked another question....If I accept the Engineering scholarship am I still eligible for Med scholarships when they come out? Anyone know?

That's amazing, over 50 engineering excellence scholarships offered each year, and only 8 for the entire Health Sciences faculty.

The truth is, they need good people to do engineering, scholarships are only an attraction for people who, without the scholarship, may have taken other paths, I think it's due to a lot of high achieving students who would make good engineers take other paths such as law, medicine, commerce...etc. rather than engineering
