it's to early to put all your eggs in one basket. Treating them equal for the moment is the best option in my opinion, though you stated you are "not going to do that"...

I'm guessing you will receive a higher scaled score for spesh, but this doesn't mean you should neglect methods.
Take this year for example, I was assuming that biology would be in my top 4 over chemistry at the start of the year, so I was going to neglect chem and focus on bio. Guess which one ended up in my top 4? Chem. You just don't know at the start of the year how you are going to go in your subjects. Treat them equal at least for now.
Oh, and even if you are "planning to get a 50 in methods", doesn't mean it will happen. Anything above 45 is a lot harder than you think. I know you're probably confident from your 50 in further, but a getting a 50 in year 11 is
a lot different to getting a 50 in year 12.
Sorry to ramble on so much, but I don't think neglecting subjects is a particularly good idea.
