We've finished high school, that's all

Say what you want about Singer as a 'philosopher', but if people are going to go along with some sort of utilitarian moral thinking (as like 75% of the population does), they may as well understand the consequences.  :p

Now I'm confused about what you're saying...?

Basically I think Singer doesn't really qualify as a philosopher, but he's a very good thinker when it comes to drawing out the implications of how most people conceive of 'ethics'.  Mostly because I (and Aurelian) don't really consider practical ethics philosophy.

I don't think I'll give up eating meat but that article said some weird stuff like meat fermenting in digestive tract and pieces of meat being found in gut and remianed there for years. Sounds really bizarre.

I'm vego, yes.
And this will probably annoy everyone else posting on this thread, but I'm not really "pro-vego". it just annoys me a little when I'm eating with other vegetarians and also um.. omnivores :P and there is that vegetarian who mentions where the food has come from RIGHT THERE AT THE TABLE. Like honestly, people have a right to be vegetarian and i think it's GREAT if they are :) but they also have a right not to be veg and I think we should respect that. :) besides, we don't need to hear about headless chickens before we're about to eat.
Happy enough after one hell of a year.

I think I should become an ovo-lacto-vegetarian. Eating plenty of nuts and beans for protein. I'm not so sure about where to get the vitamin B12 though.

first thing that comes to mind is eggs and vegemite. also, there's this stuff called nutritional yeast and it's a good source of b which you can eat by sprinkling through stirfries/porridges etc. it's available in health food stores. good luck!
