Got job. Tutoring ~10 students.
Move out. In process. But only allowed to move out under condition I come home every weekend. Mum's dependent on me.

But yeah Thushan, I think you need to bait her, give her an option that she really won't like, as taiga mentioned, but I don't think she'll buy into something that extreme.

It sounds like your parents love you a lot and want you to make good decisions in life. Maybe hit the crack pipe a bit so they appreciate how awesome you are already? :P.

I've went and pirated all the books (nearly all) on the Monash MBBS Booklist, looks like someone isn't gonna have to buy books ;)

But nah, even though my parents aren't forcing me, some of it is a nice read to be honest, I find Pharmacology just a tad interesting as well as Ethics ;D haha!

Anyways, my parents are putting house duties such as cleaning and washing on me now that I don't have to study anymore, I wish I could just go back to studying :(

I wish I had your parents guys. I want to study for uni, but its 'you should be helping out on the farm.'

Studying textbooks > picking fruit for no wage.

Seriouspost, dealing with pushy parents is tough. I'd focus on little steps rather than trying to reverse things completely from what they've been like for the last X years. If you can move out that's great (you can sleep on my floor if you agree to come to UoM :P) but it's probably worthwhile talking to them as an independent adult in your own right about what can and can't happen. Or if you want to scare them, say you don't like where your relationship is going and you want to speak to a counselor with them.

Alternatively, what Mao said.
