Can you get interviews to every undergraduate medical school in australia with 100 umat and 97 atar? ( In particular - utas, monash, unsw, adelaide)

Also do you think taking leadership courses will make much difference (in benefiting you)  in the interviews at Monash and UNSW?
Also what other things will benefit you in med school interviews? (life saving course, previous jobs, leadership, school captain, etc)

UTas- no interview for candidates, you'll get an automatic offer with those scores
Monash- UMAT is used in selecting for interview and 100%ile would do this easily
UNSW- combination of predicted atar and UMAT is used for interview selection, predicted 97 atar should get you an interview.
Adelaide- UMAT is used for selecting candidates for interview
Others- you wouldn't get an offer at UQ as your ATAR is below 99 (although if you did spesh the might change due to bonus points) UMAT would also have to be above 50 in all sections.

I recommend getting in some work experience or/and community service as they provide you with great perspectives and information and it also shows the interviewers your motivated to help the community and learn more about becoming a doctor.

Is it too late to get work experience in those fields, as we are in year 12 this year?

Not really, over the holidays sometime, mid-year would be best. Just do it for a week, you can do work experience from 9-5 and then head home and still get in 3-4 hours of study so don't worry.

Hamdog has already addressed whether you'll get in, so I won't repeat it

In regards to your other questions though, taking a leadership course won't help you as much as taking initiative to become a good leader. What you should do is take up opportunities to lead, whether it be in group work, coaching a sport at your school...etc.

It won't help you with Monash (that's all scenario based), but might help you with UNSW.

Don't bother with life-saving course, first-aid course...etc. it all doesn't really matter. cause you're victorian I assume you're wanting Monash, in reality, the Monash interview is not a personal one, it's a Scenario one so life-experiences won't really help you

Yeah i am a victorian and i am mainly aiming for Monash. I have already done work experience at monash medical centre where i sat in on a few surgeries with my fathers work friend. Do you think community service will be beneficial in the monash interview and if so what type?

I've only done the jcu interview and the uncle interview and I think life experiences like work experience, comm service, etc. were what the interviewers were searching for and looking at. I haven't done the monash one so I can't really speak for it. For my comm service I did red cross for a while, some people do st johns ambulance, others do nursing home work, I guess as long as its health related it looks quite impressive.

While Monash is a scenario-based interview, there is scope for mentioning your own life experiences.  In one of my stations, I was able to weave in a fair amount of stuff about past leadership experience and volunteer work.  So, that sort of thing is always useful, and if you can try to weave it in.  That said, don't go out and do a life-saving course etc purely for the interview...if those are things you've wanted to do, go and do it...you'll only be richer for it! :)
