Depends on your level. If you're struggling TSFX isn't good as it's not a tutor. It's better if you already know your concepts and just want to learn the technique side of things.

I always wanted to go in depth and do extra, and found TSFX wasn't so great for that-- a private tutor who can tailor things to suit you/ what you want, in my opinion, is a more effective use of time...

hmmmm tsfx is good coz they give u notes and practice exams and lots of extra resources... :) sometimes even extra classes if they see lots of people are having trouble.
and their notes are the best! You just need to make sure you focus. Their classes are literally 2 hour lectures so if you can't maintain focus it's a complete waste of money. if you can't grasp a concept taught that day, you might find yourself doing nothing besides wasting time that you could have spent studying.
personal tutoring is awesome too tho.
It depends on subject but it is good to get used to that lecture style of learning, i guess. :)
combo of both for me next year! XD
Happy enough after one hell of a year.

The only concern I have for a private tutor is how they schedule things. I'd try and look for a private tutor who can and only operates by having their own course outline rather than a bunch of "I'm struggling with this help me, I don't know that help, and that as well" every week. I mean if you're efficient with your time and know exactly what it is you're not good at then a private tutor is excellent, but so is TSFX in this regard. You ask the teacher during the break or at the end of every lesson and they'd gladly help you.

The reason why people with private tutors, or services like TSFX don't get what they paid for is complete reliance upon a these things for study. Tutor is only there for additional help, not a means of studying. After all, it's not them who will be sitting the exams or sacs.

I went to TSFX in 2010, was a waste of time. Didn't really learn anything particular, it really just meant i could sit down and watch someone do the work for me to learn rather than do it myself. So if you're good at doing work, I wouldn't bother with it.

It depends on the subject. I went last year to Methods and Physics. For methods the lessons themselves weren't as useful as I'd hoped but I found the notes helpful. For physics it was downright awesome, great teacher and the way he structured each lesson was just perfect.

I found their methods teachers are a bit of a hit and miss, since there's quite a few of them.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention their 'preparation lectures' they hold before exams. It's the most unproductive thing you can ever go through ::)

english wasn't that bad but it wasn't even that good.  i felt like they could of taught us structures and most of the things they taught us i felt like i new. but they give alright notes and their advice is read A+ essay and see how you can incorporate it. And they just give advice and stuff .

I did master classes last year. I would personally recommend a personal tutor. I found the master classes were often rushed and that all I did was copy what the teacher wrote on the screen. But that's just me. However, their notes are really good. If you have had a friend that has done these classes in the past ask them if they can give you their notes. That's what i'm doing this year. Plus their notes hardly change year from year.

did you do methods for master classes , is it good or worth it.  do they just teach the same things as your teacher. why do they say its so good
