I would use a dictaphone for lectures, an Ipad? Srsly they're just a toy. Traditional notepad and pen would do me maybe if I can write a bit faster. I'm under the impression that uni will be easier if it's something you love, right?

I couldn't picture myself wasting time on that sort of crap.

I give it 3 weeks into semester.

Uni is much easier, mainly because no one is aiming to get 100% anymore.

I hope you don't get picked for dressing like a dag at uni, I suppose people wouldn't care. I thought that the CAE seemed a bit snobby.

Hey People. Its called a COUNTRY ROAD BAG. My friends bought me one in Yr. 8 which I still use, problem free. When I go overseas, I use it as my hand luggage bag (and it always gets stopped at the security gates because my mum stuffs stupid shit into it like carrot graters) It might be a little hard to pack a laptop AND textooks into it, but either on its own should be fine. I know all the hype about having one was soooo Yr. 8, but still, they work and are useful for anyone who ceebs trying to find another bag that is just as big. And Sportgirl and Supre version do not count LOL

country road bags are SO uncomfortable, I wouldn't recommend anyone get them tbh, plus they look so ugly with heaps of textbooks because they go a weird shape. Plus they're just not cool anymore. HAHA.

Only get one if you want to look like a year 7 or 8 private-school kid trying to fit in with teh kool kidz. Compulsory messy, high ponytail, short uniform and t-bars to match.

EDIT: To be a bit less condescending, let's look at this from a practical angle: a high shoulder bag is terrible for ergonomics, the weight pulls up your centre of gravity and skews your balance of weight to one side. Plus, they're all well and good for school kids, but I don't think a bag that big is necessary for uni, especially cos you'll probably be lugging it around for much of the day, whereas in school you could stow it away in a locker for most of the day.

Agreed! Whenever I had to carry a heap of textbooks, it was just painful. Occasionally the handles would leave red marks on my shoulder due to the weight. I'll be using a crossbody satchel for uni; if it's ever necessary to bring any large textbooks I'll just bring a separate tote or something.
