I know uni is all about doing what you really enjoy to prepare for your career path, but right now all I want is good grades for the first semester in Arts so I am able to transfer to Commerce.
I have one free space for a filler subject and was wondering what would be a relatively straightforward and 'convenient' subject to do.
I'm looking towards 'Creative writing: Ideas and Practice' (
https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2012/CWRI10001).
I enjoy writing in general (mostly short prose, ocassional poetry, tons of musing/stream-of-consciousness style writing) but I believe I don't have the capacity to write in uni-level especially with specific assessment criterias and timeframe (also it's my second language so I'm not really confident). I do also love reading but find analytical-related stuff like text response/discovering allusions and all that jazz a bit daunting which steers me away from doing literature.
I understand that there are no shortcuts nor is this the best attitude to approach uni but at the moment all I am worried about is my first semester result so I just need sort of a 'quick fix' for my extra subject space.
If you have done 'Creative writing' (How do you find it? Is it as subjective as everyone says it is? How high are standards?) or have any relevant insight, I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks for reading!
