Pretty impressive that you can keep your desk that neat :P My desk is pretty much just piles of looseleaf paper scattered everywhere.

Noting that you have the same scientific calculator as me, just in case you haven't explored the features of the calc yet I'll point out that ENG and SHIFT+ENG button is pretty useful when it comes to getting things into scientific notation.

haha, kesh's desk will look really messy at the end of the year haha with all the prac exams and all that shit. I'll try to find my picture with all prac-exams and study guides, even though the latter wasn't many.
Since I started studying like 2 weeks before mid-years my desk was perfectly neat until then haha

Sweet! Thanks Laser, I'll look into that once I replace the batteries. :P For about 5 months, I've had to flex the calculator to get it to work. Apparently that happens when the battery is on it's last legs. Now it won't turn on so the battery is completely empty.

Haha cut me some slack!! It's not that bad!!! :P

If I took out the watch, the two white cables and the random piece of paper, it would look neat.

And all of you know... According to our parents "the messier your desk, the harder you are working" haha

I prefer working in a neater environment, helps me keep focus and for some reason, it helps me stay in a good mood. (weird)

Not weird. I'm the same way!
But sometimes I procrastinate by cleaning my desk.

I probably shouldn't have said that and sorry for any offense, but when the off-topic is at least 70 of 150 pages and mods have been VERY lenient with it until now (and if you look back, I did mention a lock once before), it needs a harsher term.

In case this was pitched at me: maybe it's not because anyone "really doesn't like" you, but maybe that it's because maybe someone expects more from you.

There are very few people who I actually truly dislike.

Not pitched at you mate. Some people have actually sent me some really mean and agressive messages. Also, I'll try my best to ensure this thread remains as productive as possible. As the thread owner, I take full responsibility.  :)

Alright, well it's time to take some action! We're on our last warning here and I don't think any of us want our thread locked. I don't know if you've noticed but I've tried to step back here and let you guys run the "discussion" (which I will continue to do) but I think we're going to have to set some guidelines.

1. As you know, I created a chat for our cohort prior to the release of VCE results. Please continue to use this as our "chat room" - do not bring this back onto the forums.

2. The aim of this thread is to deal with schooling life throughout VCE. Try to keep the discussion here relevant to this topic and not spam like - it's OK to talk about things here, but do so in such a way that your posts have some sort of substance and are not one-liners found in an IM chat.

3. Continue to remain active. We don't want this thread to lapse back to the times when all it was was my personal diary with my Unit 1 results. Feel free to bring up anything, as long as it's useful, productive and involves other members.

Simple enough, eh? We have rules to abide by and we don't want to find ourselves on the wrong side of them. We also don't want to cut off all the help we've been receiving from previous cohort groups. I think these ideas are reasonable. :)

I've cleaned my desk further now. :)

Honestly, this will be it's peak. I love using my iPad for textbooks, easier to flip pages but annoying because you can't view two. It's great because the laptop is so close by, I can use it for displaying other resources like a periodic table or a trig table or what ever. Also, I'm putting in another 22" monitor vertically so I could use that for textbook answers and stuff. I love technology..

I'm not entirely certain to be honest? Should I know? :). I think we start on the 4th or something. I've been taking a break since the holidays started but have started doing some study now!

Well, I think our desks differ slightly in how they're organized kesh :p

And I took a break for a few days over Christmas :) but I'm going to visit family in Apollo bay soon, and I've been forbidden to take homework there haha, so double break!

They're only slightly different :)

It's just so much easier. Everything is within reach, so I don't have to worry about little things all the time. If I want to check Facebook, bam, I can do it in 5 seconds, same with AN... Then I can get straight back to it.

My speed in answer questions is improving by the day too, you have no idea how much confidence that gives me :)

I think I start on the 30th January. I did most of my holiday homework in the first couple of weeks, but I've been pottering around and finding some sort of work to do each day. It's nice to take a real nice long break before Year 12 - I'm aiming for longevity next year, rather than overworking myself like I did in Year 11. I still am a little concerned that I'm slacking off too much, but then again, I don't feel comfortable being ahead of the class so I think I'm in a good position.

I'm trying to evenly distribute my workload. If I want to, I can finish all my holiday homework in a week or two. But I know myself well enough to figure out that most of it won't be absorbed as well.

Working for a longer period of time means I exercise my brain more frequently. While I don't do the same things again, they'll be easier to remember as the work I do now relates to it to some extent. Plus, I find that my homework becomes more enjoyable and less of a chore, and that to me seems vital this year.

To be honest I don't feel like I've had much of a break ( working) but perhaps I'll take the last few weeks off to just relax. (The money probably isn't worth it if I'm going to come into year 12 feeling burnt out)

I've just started my homework. Russia is a crazy place. ^_^
