Peedles: Why are there 3 lectures for UNIB20007? Coordinator says 2, portal lists 3 lectures yet I cant find the 3rd among the selections?

The two random lectures on Fridays are for non-VCE or uni bio people.

Quote
These aren't lectures, they are workshops that are optional and are intended for students who do not have a background in science to provide extra support with learning basic genetics. There will be some further information about these provided in the first lecture.

If you have already had classes in genetics, at highschool or in first year biology, you will not need to attend these workshops.

For once in my life, I didn't get reamed by the uni.  Got all the classes I wanted and was done by 10.05am.  Sorry to everyone who got fucked over.

There are only 3 of the Monday pracs in the whole semester and as mentioned above, don't have to go to the two GHS lectures at 1.00pm on Fridays either

I'd better enjoy this semester because the next one is going to have pracs like every week. :/

Until they're 5 hour pracs, quit complaining :P

Also you can skip every GHS lecture (I know you won't, but you can)

Yeah.. my time table.

'Spose it's not to bad, just wish it wasn't so spread out. And before you ask, there is only one time slot for the BIOL1002 lectures and that's at the beginning of the friggen day ._. If worst comes to worst I can always skip that lecture ( and the two following it ;]) and rock up at 1 on a Monday.

At least I get Thursday off =D

What exactly is the rush like when more classes open up (i.e. on the 20th of Feb)? I was on a plane over the Indian Ocean at 10AM yesterday and by the time I got home (7pm) most stuff was gone, and atm I can't even construct a clash free timetable on account of stuff being full, so I'm hoping I'll be able to fix everything on the 20th...

Probably a whole heap of people shitty with their timetables and fighting tooth and nail for classes. ISIS will probably crash, too.

My study plan isn't letting me enrol yet which is kinda annoying since I wanna make my timetable!

During the Chinese info sesh at Academic Advice Day, the guy told us about the 4 streams for chinese. Non-chinese/no vce, non-chinese/did vce chinese, chinese, crazy chinese (fobs)
He told us that this year, the enrolling process is different because you can do your enrolling and timetabling before your interview so he told us to enrol into what stream we think we'll get into and then do timetabling but still have to go to the interview. I guess they changed it so you can't enrol into chinese now since they're scared that heaps of people will enrol into the wrong stream (i know so many that enrolled into chinese post-vce when they should be doing chinese 7 since they are chinese themselves).

Also my eco tute is fixed now :D

I've heard that for Introductory Microeconomics, they've experienced "over-enrolment" where a lot more students enrolled in the subject than anticipated, so they've had to have "emergency meetings" to alleviate the crisis.
