gun the interview and atar and you won't have to worry about the fucking umat. what a joke of a test.

i wouldn't say that that's exactly advisable, but I think it raises two points.

1) With the introduction of late interviews, Monash has made it somewhat fairer to people who might have missed out by a little on the UMAT. Hence, the UMAT's importance as a filter has decreased somewhat. But then and again, I haven't heard of anyone with a UMAT in the 80s making it in.

2) It helps to do well in everything. Just do the best you can in the UMAT, getting a good UMAT score boosts your confidence and takes a little bit of pressure off your performance in the ATAR and eventually, the interview.

I have a mate with umat 85 and 99.5 and got bonded

Oh wow, so Monash's late interview system does get people with really low (comparatively) into the course.

But it's still a rarity, I'm sure there's not that many others in Monash MBBS with a UMAT in the 80s.

Yeah, he's probably the only one if he's or she's not rural and/or has SEAS

it's ironic cause luke got 99.60 ATAR and 98th Percentile UMAT (which are basically the same as my scores in reality) and he only got bonded

guess it's the interview in the end!

My friend who graduated with an ATAR of 99.90 last year and got 88th percentile on the UMAT got a bonded place :) Although I'm certain he would have also done very well in the interview.
Aspiring doctor. Why? For the same four reasons as everybody else. Chicks, money, power and chicks.
