Can you ask them what language they think in?

I know its a weird question, but I'd be really interested to know how many people who are multilingual think in what language. I just asked my mum, and she says that she sometimes thinks in Hindi too.

Stepdad thinks in Italian, step family thinks in either Italian or Spanish (depending on which step family). Keep in mind my stepdad was raised in Australia his whole life :P

My parent thinks in Hakka while my mum thinks in Hokkien. They do speak reasonable english though. However, I simply can't utter a proper sentence in Hakka or Hokkien as I get it mixed up with Canto and Mandarin.... I do understand all the dialects though =P

I don't even know what I think in.

My mum definitely thinks in Vietnamese though. She can't speak very good English although she is capable of understanding it quite well.

My mum thinks in English, Hakka (dialect) and Indonesian under different circumstances (ie. numbers in Hakka). It's so weird because sometimes she'll blurt things out in different languages and I have to consciously keep up. :P
