Go to the ERC and ask them.

I don't know if you can transfer mid-year, then you will want very high marks (especially given your low ATAR), so minimum 80. And you will want to do chemistry, biology, and a maths subject. If you think it is a better pathway for medicine (what about engineering), don't bother, science is fine too.

Not by medicine standards.

Considering that the requirement for non-SEAS places was 99, then no, 94.35 is not high.

Alright, i'll check out what ERC say. If it seem's VERRY difficult, ill take your advice and stick with science.

I know that you'll have to do chem 1 and chem 2 in place of chem for biomed. Not sure about other subjects though.

From what people tell me and I've read on the internet. Biomed @ UoM is more medical orientated and prepares you well for the gamsat so you have a better chance of getting into med in the future and you still have some amount of freedom to pick other subjects.

I think after 1st year Science can pretty much be just as medically oriented as biomed. I've been told that chem for biomed skips a few things your meant to know for the gamsat too.
I've also been told that the 2nd year biomed subjects are pretty awesome though, so maybe you should just speak to a few people at uni.
In regards to your ATAR, there are many people in biomed that got low to mid 90s that are getting straight H1s now, so don't let it make you lose confidence..

that's not exactly true, you can pick subjects which are medical oriented in BSc too. I wouldn't say BBioMed prepares you better for the GAMSAT, what makes you say that? Also, why do you think you have a better chance of getting into med from BBioMed? I would say do the degree which you think will earn you a higher GPA.

I know, you can do similar subjects to those in biomed. As for your questions, this is what i have read and been told.

I always hear complaints about how hard biomed is, so I assume it's much harder to get better grades in biomed than it would be if you chose certain science subjects, and in turn, this would make it harder to get a higher GPA.
I'm also guessing, depending on the med school, GPA is just as important as your GAMSAT result.

You can take the two first year chem and biol subjects and they are supposed to prepare you for the GAMSAT well enough anyways I hear.

Dunno about how it is in 2nd and 3rd years, but 1st year biomed didn't seem to be any harder than 1st year science. I think people just like to complain, or think that their degree is harder than other's...
