Algebra

I've got my Algebra SAC coming up on Monday and I'm feeling pretty good for it, except for simultaneous literal equations. It's not that they're hard or anything, but I guess I'm making small errors in the working out, since some of the questions can get quite long and involved. How do I try and minimise this occurring during the test? Is there any particular way that could help me be extra careful in my workings?
