Tutorials in the first week

Is it normal to have them in the first week, even before I have any lectures for the subjects?
Just wondering. I have them for MKF1120 and MGF1010 before the lectures.

Some person asked lecturer at O week orientation. Lecturer says the first week tute is just introduction on subject and how tutes work in general
