Medentry section 3 pick the middle

Hello,

Would anyone be able to give any tips or shed some light on approaching the pick the middle questions?

People have said use the "3-2" method, but it doenst always work, sometimes there are some really dodgy questions where it is irrelevant :(
Thanks!!

The way I did it was, find the last piece, which is the one that doesn't have a continuation in the 5 pieces and then kinda work backwards from there and just pick the 3rd piece in the sequence

This explanation may seem a bit confusing but that's as easy as I can put it.

hmm, sounds good, but how did you get the last piece in the first place though?

Well, the last piece is the one that doesnt have a consecutive piece follow after it, I guess you have to test each of the 5 pieces to work it out.
And also notice the pattern.....

My explanation sucks :(
