Thanks for your help. I really hope I start to enjoy Physics a bit more and I'm trying really hard so hopefully I will. I just wanted to be sure everything would still be fine if things didn't work out. :)

A lot of the time it asks for 1 of something and lists a bunch of subjects. And specialist maths is usually one of those subjects.
Also specialist maths pretty much cancels out physics. I know one guy who dropped physics after unit 2 but continued doing methods and specialist in year 12 and now he's doing physics at university.
I highly doubt you could do it the other way around with physics instead of specialist maths.

Here's looking at you. I didn't do specialist maths, yet I was on the Australian Physics Team in year 12, took UMEP Physics and scored in the 90s both semesters, and also took Thermal and Statistical Physics at ANU and got a HD... I've taken maths classes at Yale, but despite my lack of specialist maths in VCE, I'm going to be doing a pretty epic physics research internship this summer. Specialist maths is not necessary to do physics, or even to do well in physics.

You misunderstand me, appianway.

I'm saying if you want to do a maths course (eg. calculus 3) and you do VCE physics instead of VCE specialist maths, you're going to have a hard time.
But if you want to do a physics course (eg. mechanics) and you do VCE specialist maths instead of VCE physics, you should still be able to cope with it.

Take your 'Specialist Maths vs Physics' discussion elsewhere.

Yeah, I have Mr Coulthard. I've heard Mr Hunter's not that great either. :/
