Actuarial Studies, Med, Law

In my honest opinion, becoming a Oral and maxillofacial surgeon. It requires both a Dental degree and a MBBS/MD


Actuarial studies and MBBS/LLB also look like absolute killers to me.


My top five single degrees: (subjective based on my interests and what I've heard)
1. Actuarial studies
2. Law
3. MBBS
4. Dentistry
5. Any course in English that needs lots of essays

But honestly, the hardest degree is in a subject you despise whilst the easiest will the the one that interests you most

That. Uni is largely about motivation I'd say. They don't make it ridiculously difficult to pass in most cases. Even the hardest courses aren't that bad, with most people who fail failing due to lack of motivation rather than an utter inability to comprehend what they're taught.

Well I'm in my second year of Aero.Eng/Science and I'm overloading this semester so it's kinda hectic. (30 contact hours weeks). Yeah I spend much more time that I normally do on studying, preparing for tutes, etc etc., however, I'm starting to really like the content that we're going through so it feels like a game for me anyway. (I'm even starting to sacrifice my gaming time to read up on texts lol...) There is however, one component in my science degree that I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE. Physics..... I hate that so much...+ combined with a not so decent lecturer, I feel like punching something every time I see that word... On the bright side, maths isn't what I and many of my friends expected it to be during first year. I hated it during first year, but now that we're doing more abstract stuff, I'm actually starting to like it alot. (nerdy as that sounds...)

So year, it boils down to your interest in that course, and also to the units within the course itself. It's up to you to decide, but just a side note that the course may be completely different to that you perceive it to be.

Isn't Pure maths kind of like acturial studies?

Actuarial studies uses various things from pure maths, but is a lot less based on abstract concepts and more with the application of known formulae.

Don't forget certain generic courses like science can be pretty hard depending on your subject choices.

 I find it annoying when others assume that their course is harder than others' because there are so many factors (natural ability, how well you cope with long contact hours/self-study, level you're at, how good your memory is, whether you think creatively, etc.). Plus, anything at a high level is difficult.

There is no one hardest course.

In VCE for instance. I spent 80% of my time studying Literature yet I only got a 40 raw. Yet, I didn't even complete most of the exercises set for homework and pulled much higher in Spesh and Methods 45+ raw.

So, in summation, with learning anything. I think how much you enjoy something is the ultimate factor to how hard it is/isn't. I for one, would find Pure Maths 100 times easier then English Literature.
