I'm ridicuously bored, so I made this thread lol.

Anyways hello current vce students and vce veterans :).

Firstly, use the poll.
Secondly, answer or discuss of how one of your weakest subject turned out to be one of your best subject :).

and thats it :P.

LOTE- In high school I was awful at French. Later, as a mature age student, I did Latin at the VSL. I never thought I'd be able to do a language at VCE level, but I succeeded. My score scaled to 49, which was my highest scaled score.

Alright haven't done mine.

Well my most improved subject is english.

In late 2010 (year 10) to early 2011 (year 11) I was getting D+'s and C's. Once semester two has hitted in 2011 I dramatically improve to the next level and started to get B's and B+'s through the aid of an vce veteran. My year level coordinator pulled out an ex-student at my school that has gotten an English studyscore of 46, the school paid him to be my mentor and his a great mentor. We occassionally stay back in school stay back in school talking about life in general and his a great friend to me :).

A lil off topic :P

Maths.
I did horribly in any type of maths during Year 9-11. Somehow, it turned out to be my second best subject in Year 12, now continuing maths in Uni

Definately English. From 4/10 in my earlier years of essay writing, I now get much higher, thanks to my VCAA assessor of a tutor and the fact that I read more, and build my vocabulary.

Am taking in students for CHEMISTRY and MATHS METHODS tuition for 2014 as well as first year chemistry. If interested, pm me. Flexible with location.

I haven't actually finished VCE, but I have been terrible at maths ever since primary school.
So Maths is probably mine.

In year 9, my maths teacher told me to go into Everyday maths (similar to VCAL maths at a year 10 level) I straight out told him no and that I was going to continue core maths.
In year 10, barely passing core maths, the other maths teacher told me that I couldn't do Methods and that I was simply not smart enough, I told her no and picked up Methods (she's been giving me weird looks since)
In year 11, they gave us the senior maths teacher and she started to really encourage me and everything and then BAM it just started to click.  From that year on I started to really enjoy maths, simply because it's black and white, there's no grey to it.

As childish as this sounds, one of my goals now is to get a pretty decent SS for Methods and be like SUP BITCHEZ!111!1eleven to my year 9 and 10 teachers.  I know they were trying to advise me, but I had wanted to do atleast core maths for a long time.

Yeah mine is probably maths as well. Although I'm definitely not in the running for 40+ in methods, it's surprising that I'm even taking it, considering I was almost failing maths from year 5-9. Year 10 was a major turn around for me, probably because my teacher was strict (and good) so I actually did the work.

I'd say Maths, I failed all my tests in Year 7 and 8 (did no work) and in Year 9 I managed to pass just by like a few a few marks, Year 10 did pretty well in Maths but was in foundation so it was easy as shit, Year 11 did crap because I was not used to Methods, Year 12 doing much better however still have a lot to improve on.

Two subjects. Physics, from wanting to drop the subject at the end of year 10 (year 11 physics) and getting mediocre scores on year 11 physics test, to getting a 50 raw in year 11. And French, from being OK but not great to a 47 raw. Just persevere and work hard. It helps a lot once you start liking the subject.

LOL, at the end of year 10,  got 51% on my core exam. My teachers didn't let me take a 3/4 in year 11 , they didn't want me to take methods and sent a letter home when I picked GMA (spesh). To quote my teacher, ',Instead of thinking about a 3/4 in year 11, I suggest you work on making sure you pass every single one of your subjects which will be a challenge in itself'.

Well long story short, I got the highest study score at my school in Methods, Spesh, Literature and Physics.

As our year 7-10 campus is split from our year 11-12 campus, here is the dialogue upon seeing the teacher with the above quote after not seeing her for two years:

Teacher: Oh hi, how did you go in your studies, did you pass? Are you going to go to university next year?
Me: Ahh ye, I got in
Teacher: That's good, are you still thinking of a trade or planning on completing university?
Me: Pretty certain I plan on doing surgery or cancer research one day
Teacher: (Laughing) What did you really get into?
Me: Biomedicine at UoM?
Teacher: No, seriously...
Me: (serious expression on the face) Look, here's my student card. I'm serious, Biomedicine at Melbourne.
Teacher: (Teachers jaw literally drops) What the fuck?

It's a good feeling man, work hard for it.

Hard to say... my best subject is maths, but I have always been good at maths since primary school. I haven't really significantly improved at any subject :(
