Do what you want to do (provided you enjoy it!) and if your parents disagree, arrange a meeting with the teachers/principal/careers person/VCE coordinator/whoever to get this sorted out, because your parents - no offence - are way over-the-top and are being very strict and unfair with you. The added expectations (which you clearly don't want or need) are magnifying the problem. If they don't back down, screw it, just pick what you want, it's your life and they shouldn't be running it for you against your will (no matter what their intentions are).

Good luck mate, but follow your brain and heart, not theirs :)

in year 10, i said that i would consider doing med/eng only to get them off my back. now theyre quoting it, saying that im 'indecisive and dont noe wot i want'... i dont noe what to do...

Mate, I added more to my previous post, but I am really feeling for you right now :(

Seriously, follow yourself and don't live their dreams, you'll regret it enormously later on if you follow the latter. Try and arrange a chat with the school, it'll help.

DW you don't need Physics for spesh, I don't do it either, seriously don't need it :D.

But that's not the point! Look, your brother got a 99.75 - I'm assuming he had the same pressure on him as you do? How did they deal with it when he got his, supposedly, 'mediocre' results.

Believe me, physics doesn't help spesh in the slightest (it's actually the other way around) and I did both.

I still think that getting into contact with the school is a good idea, an anonymous phone call, or something during parent-teacher night. If anything worries me, it's the fact that you're under so much pressure, which is going to go on for 2 years and is very bad to your health (or anyone's health - you're not alone in that!).

As I said before, good luck, hope you find a way around it to follow your own dreams, because they are the ones that actually matter in the end.

he didnt have this stress, cause my parents didnt noe abt vce then. he graduated 8 years ago, and since then hes brainwashed my parents into thinking anything but perfection is horrible. (he had hepatitis C during his exams, so that was his excuse for his 'mediocre score'). i dont have one... i HAVE to get five 50s if i want them to back off. i noe about my mental health.... ive been talking to the school HHD teacher and shes really helped me, but i dunno... im gonna be insane by end of year 12, and worst of all, i wont get 99.95 with this mindset.... im stuffed in all aspects

Daamn... does your brother have like a vendetta against you or something? Seems like he's out to get you :P.

Get your teachers to talk to your parents and at least TRY explain to them the other perspective. They're the people who can help you most, and best of all, all it takes is a 5 minute chat with your coordinator, and they won't even tell your parents you asked them to do it.

nah my brother isnt out to get me. he just wants me to get 99.95, be in the paper, get 5 premier awards, dux the state, brind family honour. its, what i believe, platonic love and desire for the younger sibling to do well and be successful, gone wrong.

Not getting a 99.95 ATAR = Dishonour and shame. Making Thushan's scores look like a joke - Priceless

nah, didn't dux state - didn't even get close to duxing actually...!
but yeah I did spesh last year, all i can really say about it is that you don't need year 11 spesh actually - there are some specific things you might need and that can be taught in a heartbeat.

btw turtles, i sent you a PM.
