My Class did the US vs Australia so I don't know about New Zealand however I can assure you that Australia has a pretty weak process in protecting rights.

Firstly Australia does not have a bill of rights, this means that Australia's rights are not contained in a single document however are found in numerous other places, including 5 explicit rights, the 2 implied rights, common law, structural protection and the referendum.

Australia has a very narrow and limited process in protecting rights, our constitution only contains 5 explicit (clearly state in the constitution) rights, ( freedom of religion, right to be trialed by jury, compensation on acquired property, interstate and commerce and residential non discrimination).
