Just remember guys focus on the exam + sac rank. I wasted too much time getting 100% on every sac and as a consequence I went into the exam and only walked away with  41 SS.

The exam is important.. But the exam is also a long way away, so do as well on the sacs as you can!

I've only had 1 SAC so far, I'm currently in the middle of one.

See scores below. Applications is so boring, no idea why I chose it.

Yeah I have to agree, IT Apps is boring. I wish my school offered SD! D:

My SACs so far..
U3O1 - 95%
U3O2 - 96%
U4O1 - 96%
U4O2 - 98%

Looking forward to that exam! Yeah! Only 14 days to go! Woohoo...

How much is the weighting of the exam in relation to the SACs?

Here are my SAC marks:
U3O1 - 100%
U3O2 - 100%
U4O1 - 100%
U4O2 - 95%

Hypothetically, what kinda mark do I need to get in the exam to get a 50?

Depends on where you rank. Judging by those scores (well done by the way :) ) I'd guess that you're rank 1. This means that your result will not be influenced by your cohort. So I'd say aim to lose no more than 2 marks on the exam.

I can't emphasize the importance of smashing the exam for a high study score. I scored 100% every sac and was rank 1, and a low A+ on the exam resulted in me scoring 41. VCAA only receive your SAC rank, not score. Therefore don't get too caught up with the 100%'s like I did.

Rank 1 with
U3O1 - A+
U3O2 - A+
U4O1 - A
U4O2 - A+

But then again, I don't come from a particularly strong cohort.

IT Apps exam in less than 10 days, time to forget about SACS and focus on what's important :P

Know the theory damn well guys. And don't forget to READ THE QUESTION. It sounds so simple yet it's always the one word you miss that costs you a cheap mark in the exam.

Hopefully VCAA have no WTF questions in this years exam.
