Definitely. You want to keep the information as fresh in your mind for the exam as possible.

It really depends on how much you've already studied/how much practice materials you've already completed. I guess, not intense studying, but just consolidating concepts or doing one final practice exam or some practice questions or even just skimming over your notes once more will be effective.  I think not doing any work at all in the few days leading up to the exam isn't really a good idea, because for some it might get them out of the whole "mid-years is coming so I better be alert" mood - It's hard to explain but I think a tiny weeny bit of stress/anxiety in the lead-up to the exams is normal (don't panic if you do feel a little stressed/anxious). I found that the little anxieties I felt in the lead up to exams sort of kept me alert and awake and even helped me to concentrate better; so little bits of relaxed study a few days before the exams won't do you any harm :)

The best thing to do is not to study too much but at the same time not to study enough. I would just review notes and maybe do the past couple of years VCAA exams. But i guess it does come down to what subjects they are.

just relax and take it easy...maybe just go through past mistakes and make last minute touch ups to cheat sheet, etc. I highly recommend not doing any work AT ALL  the day before the exam because you want to be in a fresh state of mind and almost eager to do questions. the last thing you want to happen is get tired of doing exams the DAY BEFORE THE ACTUAL EXAM! nah but you get what I mean...

I found doing some of those logic puzzles out of the newspaper was a good way to get my head working in the morning of the exam with the added benefit of getting my mind off stressing out.

Carn the Demons.

Just read chemguide.co.uk, do a few practice exams and maybe flick through your textbook.

I wish I regularly read chemguide.co.uk when I was doing chem :( It's a good idea for the last three days, good to consolidate your knowledge :)

yea definitely study.
i know people who took a whole week off, i dont understand why.. its not like ur gonna be tired or overworked..
i did like 5 prac exams the day before my accounting exam and that helped heaps!
You shouldn't be cramming late at night, study, dont take it over the top (staying late up etc), but at the same time dont take it easy.

screw what the yr 12's from this year are saying, listen to I and RohitPi

I think the general idea is, if you consistantly put the work in throughout the first semester, you shouldn't need to have to study 2 or 3 days before the exam. but of course it doesnt always work out like that and you end up studying to the last minute to try to make up for slacking off. But yeah its too late at this stage. So if you think you put the work in then relax for the last few days and if you didnt, then studying the course would be beneficial i guess.

If it weren't for last minute cramming, I probably would've failed every exam I've ever taken.

Listen to I and RohitPi? If it rhymes does it make it true?

I would take advice from these experienced guys. Take care with nacho though because he can be an interesting fellow.

How is this possible? Did you study consistently throughout the year and then revised/crammed info in last 3 days or what? Also what did you do? Notes, practice exams, etc. To be frank I just don't think something like this is possible unless you are a genius or are doing an easy subject like Business Management or Psychology. You probably thought you didn't know the course well compared to your MHS cohort when in actuality you knew a lot of it. Just saying..
