How's everybody going? Mid-year predictions

How's the study going guys? How many practice exams have you all done/what do you think are the hardest areas? Feel free to predict what'll be on the exam, 8 days left!

Personally I reckon Alzheimer's will definitely have an appearance as so many people screwed up the question last year - obviously it won't be the section C question but it will definitely come up somewhere - apparently VCAA tend to repeat questions on topics that are frequently answered incorrectly.

Ive done about 2 only. Looking to reach 8 - 10 before the exam. How many do think would be a good amount?

Also what do you recommend studying for an unexpected Extended Response?

I reckon be prepared for anything for the extended response - be able to write on all the key points in the study design and you should be right. Apparently it's unlikely it'll be a research methods question but who knows...

And I think at least 10 is great for the exam, as you gotta keep practising how to answer the questions, as stupid as that sounds

Section C might be on comparing sleeping patterns of say infants to old people or maybe on the theories of forgetting

The theories of forgetting would be awesome, but do you really think there is enough to say to get 10 marks for comparing sleeping patterns?

Well my knowledge on the thalamus and RAS is quite limited so I'm hoping it's not going to be related to those parts. Although I'd much prefer this than anything to do with Alzheimer's disease

If VCAA tend to repeat Qs that were answered incorrectly, do you think there's a chance the Alzheimer's ER will make another appearance?

i don't even do psych but the answer is definitely no. You're not going to have same topic for ER two years in a row

Of course they could, but there's absolutely no way they will. The ER is a 15 mark essay ish style question about a specific thing -> in last year's case Alzheimers.
VCAA isn't going to gift the whole state 15 / 15 for ER as there woudl be absolutely no point

The ER can be either out of 10 to 15 marks. It's not an essay, you can write it in dot points or even draw a table. Highly unlikely it'll be on Alzheimer's again, almost extremely unlikely, yet I'm predicting it will appear as a short answer question or something seeing as so many people got it wrong last year.
