A+ in Bio Exam

Hey guys,

I've been doing bio exams so far, and I've been getting basically nothing under 60, nothing over 72, is this good? (Note, i've made this a range because of different markers' tightness in marking exams. I've been marking my own tests, and I've gotten nothing under 63 so far, but I generally take off 3 marks because a harsher marker may have taken marks off for 'dodgy' answers.)

Also, how do you suggest i improve?

Thirdly, what is an A on the exam. I know it depends upon the cohort, but statistically, what would be considered an A, and what would be considered an A+?

Fourthly, does the bio exam score that you get alter/scale your SAC scores, or is that not true, because I've heard rumors that a bio exam score of 70+ can scale SAC scores of an average of 17/25 to an average of 24/25, is this true?

Cheers guys, any help would be much appreciated.

Drcrowthorne :)

Generally you'd want over 65/75 for an A+ (although this changes per exam).

As for you SAC queries, depends on the strength of your cohort. If your cohort does very well -> SACs go up, if not -> SACs go down.

Thanks Vegemitepi, the only thing i have sort of left to ask is, that I've been getting an average of 20.5 for SACs, I know you said that the cohort determines how good a mark is, but in terms of i guess, your own cohort, how was this mark? Like, I'm pretty sure it's an A, but is it a good mark?

Cheers,

Drcrowthorne :)

20.5 is alright for MHS, that's about a B+ to A? It'll get scaled up :)

It's an A. 19 - 21 is an A. 22+ is an A+. I sure hope it will, cause like, I want to maybe get a 45+ if I can.
