For the difference between the animal and plant cell, could we have written that plants cells have larger vacuoles than animal cells?

Yeah, that would be valid.

For question 7b, i said that the first line of defence would b the two of:
-intact skin forms a physical barrier around person and prevents entry of yellow fever viral particles
-mucus lining in airways specifically (e.g. bronchus) catch any viral particles and immobilise them, preventing them from infecting cells... is that right? i dont noe about the second one, cause the disease is carried by a mosquito vector, so i didnt think that mucus lining in air ways was a good answer (mainly cause mosquitoes tend not to fly into our lungs...)

With question 4. c) i, I said that it might have been that because it had been so long since the adults had had the immunisation, they may not have had sufficient B memory cells to combat the infection. And then for ii, I said that another vaccination could be made compulsory at the age of 30 and 50... Is that still right?

hey guys, this is going to sound really dumb, but could it be right if i said one difference between the endocrine and nervous system was the release of the chemical component? i did nervous into the synaptic cleft and endocrine into the blood... :s

@gina, I would mark that correct, not sure if VCAA will since they often hold a very specific view of how you should understand something

@highachiever, that's a correct statement, it'll only be marked wrong if the question had asked for something different (can't remember that question)

I wrote something similar for the pertussis. The question says 66% of the adults were infected, so I realised later that VCAA probably wanted a mutation as the answer. HOWEVER, it is still possible that that is the reason they were infected.

For the endocrine and nervous system, I gave the difference of intensity of message needed, Endocrine: Low and Nervous: High. Would that be ok? ???

Hey I did write exactly the same as yours but I didn't include the age30-50.

Did u put 2 answers for the difference between animal cell and plant cell?
I just put 1and will they deduct my mark given that it is 2marks

The way I read the question is 1 mark for organelle, 1 mark for explanation.

Hopefully!! As being said, 1m for organelle and 1m for a comparative statement. And just wondering if they will deduct your mark for question 2 if I label like 6/7 when they asked u to label 3? Histamine granules and receptor site for igE acceptable?

It will be fine as it specified AT LEAST 3. However, if you mislabelled something you may lose the mark.

for the question about first line of defence, can you talk about skin acting as the first physical barrier against infection as well as mucous membranes?

and for the last q: could you say the environment [they must be in a pond or whatever] and the location of the pond [must be near the plant to allow co2 intake]?
