mavisgibbons it seems like you've never experienced anything but a H1, well done on your hard work!

It isn't! In Arts I got a H2A in my most hated subject and one time I got a H2B in a Politics essay and cried in the bathrooms of level 4.5 John Medley >: You guys won't be as impressed with me when I start posting my results from this semester, I promise! Especially MIIM20003.

Stonecold, he's the guy you want to look up to!

I think having a good system for study is important too. I did prereading etc. initially but gave up fairly quickly. I didn't realise until after the mid semester break that there was a list of chem questions from the textbook for each topic.

Haha yeah I made sure to do the chem questions after each lecture, might do the actual readings they tell us at the end of the lectures though next time too.

a few H2A's and H2B's won't effect you too much and i'm sure you could have not done that bad this sem ;)

would anyone know when mbb1 results can be expected by? It was all multiple choice so i don't understand why we don't have the results already!

Definitely by Friday 6 July.

Cos releasing results isn't as easy as 1,2...  what comes next?

People have to mark them (or in your case, enter it into a machine), then the subject coordinator has to verify the people who failed and cross examine them to see if they really failed.  Then the results get entered into the system.  Then the faculty checks them.  Then they get released.  Now imagine that process being repeated many, many times.

So do you do pre-reading too?

Sometimes but not usually, pre-reading doesn't really work for me because I don't understand what I need to know until it's outlined in a lecture. I'm a terrible uni learner! So I read the readings after the lecture, and use those and my notes to create a preliminary summary. That summary then gets used to make final summaries at the end of the semester! But by summaries they are not really because it's usually about...six? seven? 96 page handwritten books per subject. They're more books that contain EVERYTHING IN THE COURSE. It's the only way I learn. For Chem though, practice exams all the way!

I must admit I did stalk you twitter once and saw a massive pile of books :P Might try that, I just like stationery and having everything written out neatly and organised. Would you also suggest perhaps condensing the notes into a summary/crucial points later on in the semester or do you find that the many books are enough?

I did the at the start of the semester before I was looking for a job, but then I found one and worked consistently 32 hrs per week until a week before exams.

Lesson learned, seriously, I didn't have nearly enough time for study.

I can't get over all the people crying over H2B/A's! They're great scores! I would kill scores like that (well not really, but you get my point)!
