Physiology or physiotherapy?

You can't transfer into Physiotherapy at Monash, but you can transfer into Physiotherapy at La Trobe after a year of Health Science.

Other option is BSc + Doctor of Physiotherapy at UoM

Yep, paulsterio has this one down pretty well. LaTrobe's Physiotherapy degree's been going for some time now, and their health science faculty is pretty strong. You can get in via direct entry, which is called the Bachelor of health Sciences with Master's in Physiotherapy practice, which is pretty much exclusively physio-oriented. Otherwise you can transfer in as long as you have the prerequisite subjects same as if you were transferring in another university.

The Doctor of Physiotherapy is another option, but professionally it's on par with the degrees from Monash and LaTrobe.

ATAR, UMAT, Interview

So it will vary, but high 90s would be enough

Would i be able to get in with 85, and do really well in biology and english?, or would i have to transfer from health science

Your individual subject scores won't matter, just your ATAR.

But no, it's extremely unlikely, if not impossible, to get in with an ATAR of 85.

Well my first piece of advice would be to try and look at your weaknesses and why you don't believe you will get over 90, because direct entry is the easiest and safest way.

The other two options would be to do Health Science and then transfer into Physiotherapy at La Trobe or to do a Bachelor of Science and then Doctor of Physiotherapy at Melbourne.

The first option I won't recommend purely based on the fact that if you didn't get into Physiotherapy to begin with by quite a large margin, which will be you if you get in the 80s, you won't stand much of a chance against those who narrowly missed out.

The second option is better, you won't get into Science at Melbourne with an ATAR of 85, but you should get into Science at Monash, from there, work your way up and get into Doctor of Physiotherapy. But this way also has it's issues, it's not easier than direct entry.
