The 7 point system is not a UoM system, its a grad med system that applies to all universities. It's completely irrelevant if you're not going to apply for medicine

near pass? Really? Why wouldn't they just call it pass since you didn't fail so you obviously passed not nearly passed lol that;s a very funny grade-near pass
I'm not 100% sure on this but I think its if that unit is the last unit you needed to complete a course of study, then you can get that grade. Something along those lines anyway.

Is the UoM gpa scale out of 7?
My careers councilor emailed UoM about Doctor of Dental surgery (gpa 6.5 minimum), and they said a gpa of 6.5 was equivalent to 92% average, but it seems like that is wrong?

I thought unimelb didn't discriminate between how high or low your H1s were since they all correspond to the same score of 7 on the gpa scale??

This is what the email said,

... However as an approximate guide a GPA of 6.5 equates to a 92% average.

From what I'm reading on this thread, a H1 is equivalent to a gpa of 7, so I'm a bit confused with the email now.

don't worry the person who sent the email probably (HOPEFULLY) doesn't know what she/he is talking about i'm pretty sure a H1=7=80-100%

Oh awesome, I was going to say goodbye to dentistry if I needed a 92% average. That being said I'm sure it's still hard to get into the course.
