Hmm, what's everyone's opinion on a semi-automatic, I would hate to commit to a manual car, even if I had my manual license.

mm depends.
Manual requires more skill :p and its more fun to drive imho.
BUT, one really good car i know, the lambo aventador is semi auto i think.
and I have a semi-auto mode on one of my cars, but hardly use it...!

Manual is more fun to drive, but one of the things with manual is that they're fun to drive when you're there to have fun. When you're not in the mood, it's a chore :P

The thing with semi-automatic is that you get the best of manual without the car actually being manual, so you can knock it over to semi-automatic for taking off and overtaking and that sort of stuff.

yeah a lot of supercars have the semi auto transmission on the steering wheel, the paddle shifter type.

Both our cars are semi-auto but it's via the gear selector. I've used it occasionally but I don't see the point of it lol.
I didn't learn how to drive manual so I don't really use it much :P

haha yeah true true man,  but , once you get the hang of it, its second nature! Like, for me, I just drive it without even thinking much about it.
But it all comes down to personal preference !

but about taking over, and corners etc , your right ! it does get annoying LOL. especially on highways... 4th gear to 2nd gear gets annoying..

i wouldnt mind semi auto though :)

Manuals are a couple of thousand cheaper. And I've driven manual for years, it's never been a chore any more so than driving usually is.

Really? Guess it's cause I'm not used to driving a manual, I have to always think about shifting gears.
