I pretty much always have it on running on one of the tabs in my browser last year and this year. I take breaks when I have work to do, a good example would be a weeks I went off the internet before the EOY exams, just to focus and actually get some solid work done.

If you're really struggling, disconnect internet, give modem to parents with the line "Give this back to me in an hour". Problem solved :)

I gave my account away around 2 weeks before exam period started, helped tremendously

A friend of mine deleted her account, and blocked the site too, dedication.
Of course, AN can help you with your studies, but if it is really nagging you and disturbing your studies, there are always alternative ways to get help

Shhhhh, shh shh shh, don't fight it, it'll be easier if you don't fight it...

...

Seriously though. If you're really struggling with this, you can PM a national mod or admin and ask them to ban you from the site for a specified period of time. Quite a few members do this :P

Oddly enough I find it the other way around. I'm on here a lot, yet seem to be doing better in my studies. I think there's just a lot of motivation on here to do well. I keep my tabs open, but I guess during the uni I study a lot at the library where atarnotes is banned then :P
2012-2014. BSc: Neuroscience. University of Melbourne.

Whatever you want - normally a ban means you can't access the site at all. But I can also set it so that you can only view threads but not post if you like (only admins can do that though)

You can also just switch into incognito mode (assuming default setting of all extensions disabled) or just open up the extensions window and click 'disable'

Is there any ways to top yourself going to AN forum?

Assuming you meant 'stop', the easiest way is to just log out and start studying.

Is the problem necessarily just AN too? If you were to get off AN, would you just procrastinate elsewhere?

If you're procrastinating, blaming it on anything other than yourself probably isn't productive, it really just comes down to a matter of self-discipline when it comes to getting your study done.
