Chrome Stay Focused Extension FTW :D

Although I haven't used it in a while, but it works when you really have to get something done.

time up? use another browser :P

You can also just switch into incognito mode (assuming default setting of all extensions disabled) or just open up the extensions window and click 'disable'
The point is if you do that, then you have to go to the effort to do that and by then you should stop yourself. It may have worked for me because I can't really stand using browsers other than Chrome nowdays.... Although odds are you can get something similar for other browsers.

Although if they made an option where you had to say solve a spesh problem before it would let you unlock it then that could work (kinda like the wake up alarms that you have to do a multiplication problem before it will stop).

Although getting banned for a while is probably the best way to go.

I'm starting to get too old for this... May be on here or irc from time to time.

Assuming you meant 'stop', the easiest way is to just log out and start studying.

Is the problem necessarily just AN too? If you were to get off AN, would you just procrastinate elsewhere?

If you're procrastinating, blaming it on anything other than yourself probably isn't productive, it really just comes down to a matter of self-discipline when it comes to getting your study done.

Actually I set AN as my homepage and I dont remember my password, I never log out.
Yeah, I think I'm a procrastinator and I use AN as my excuse

From memory they did have a feature you could set where you had to type out exactly (without making a typo, if you typo'd you had to start again) a pre-set paragraph before unlocking it. That doesn't really work if just go ahead and disable the extension in Chrome though. But yeah like you said, it comes down to realising yourself (which you could kind of just replicate by logging out of AN or even for typing the website address in).

I'm so addicted to AN that I deferred my course at uni to spend more time on it.

Okay I think I finally figured it out!

If anyone is having trouble being distracted by AN, I can customise your profile so that you can only see certain boards :)

For me its this or facebook. and i'm guessing AN is contributing more to my vce because i just end up stalking people on facey. (well at least if vce doesn't turn out i can get a job as a detective!)
