I believe that Monash is one of the ONLY unis to not give second round interviews taking the ATAR into account, so I still think that in the general scope of med (which isn't just undergrad), the ATAR is the most important of the two, it keeps options open, and thats the truth.
Not just Monash, I think University of Adelaide is based on UMAT alone as well
Nope, I got a second round interview for Adelaide with my ATAR.
from the handbook of undergraduate course i saw from monash, minimum ATARvto get in med is 90... just sayin
Yeah, you'll find NO metropolitan kids with an ATAR of 90 at Monash. Most rural kids will be much above that too. Going off the "lowest accepted values" for any course isn't a great idea imo, try and find where the medians if you want to play such a numbers game (which I don't endorse).
Reality: for all metro kids, median ATAR is ~99.3 (could even be higher).
i feel that monash is greatly considerate of people applying from the south eastern area because of disadvantaged reasons...i know some 4th yr med students who got in with <95 due to their SEAS criteria..
I haven't heard of that, do you have a link the the bold part? I'd be surprised if that was true for the whole of the south-east.
have you ever considered deakin med? it might be easier
It's graduate entry for those who have an undergrad degree under their belt + requires GAMSAT
